ASTERROIDS

Since early times, Scientists were eager to discover things out in the space. There was a large gap between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter, thus frequent research was being done to find out whether any planet existed there. After a lot of research, it was discovered that there was a belt of debris of rocky stones, metals  and gases between the orbits of Mars  and  Jupiter known as 'Asteroid Belt'. 

Asteroids are also known as 'Planetoids' or 'Minor' Planets'. Ceres is the largest asteroid in the Solar System
