How do heavenly bodies in solar system stay in their place?

The gravity of the planets and other heavenly bodies in their place. The force of gravity of the sun pulls all the planets inwards while energy produced by the planets and other heavenly  bodies tries to move themselves away into the space. Both the forces produced by the sun and the planets and other heavenly bodies balance themselves and move in a definite path around the sun known as orbit.
