Jupiter
Jupiter is the largest and fifth planet from the Sun. It is a giant
ball of gas having colourful cloud on its surface and a thin ring around it.
Jupiter a massive planet and eleven
times bigger than the earth. The outer part of
Jupiter contains gas, beneath this is the liquid layer and at the centre
is a solid core. It takes twelve year for Jupiter to make one complete orbit
and it rotates on its axis in only ten hour.
Great Red Spot
Great red spot is a huge storm, which rotates in an anticlockwise
manner on Jupiter. It is located in the south hemisphere and is caused due to
violent swirling of gases. This spot was discovered by Robert Hook in 1664. The spot is red in
colour due to the presence of phosphorus on its surface.
